The vision of CBF is to create an organizational model that will flourish from one founding chapter to churches throughout the Chicago area, then throughout the US, and ultimately, throughout the world.
CBF is a non-profit organization with a Governance Board that is ultimately accountable for fiduciary, compliance, legal, and strategic matters. The day-to-day operations are entrusted to a group of unpaid leaders who apply their unique spiritual, business, and creative gifts in the hope that the professional, personal, and spiritual lives of CBF members will be enhanced for God’s glory.

SHS has grown from a one-man operation to a successful nationally-recognized recruiting firm. Along the way, Joseph completed numerous operations consulting assignments, co-founded a private label food manufacturer, and serves as Director of Career Services at an internationally-renown culinary school.

Founder of AcuCare Total Health, Dr. Renee McMurry Gilman has had over twenty years as a healthcare provider and small business owner. Renee and her husband Brit have a strong desire to make Christ known. Pastor Brit and Dr. Renee have served ten years in missions and nine years at Harvest Bible Chapel. Together they teach and train others to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Prior to God’s dramatic call on his life to serve the poor and vulnerable, Bruce started and led a successful multi-office law office as a trial lawyer, arguing cases all the way to the U. S. Supreme Court. Author of Gospel Justice published by Moody, an accomplished attorney, a pastor, and founder of Administer Justice (one of the nation’s leading Christian Legal Aid organizations), Bruce now serves as President & CEO of Gospel Justice Initiative, an organization committed to engaging Christ followers to serve the legal and spiritual needs of the poor. He has shared 24 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Helen, and has 15-year-old twin sons, Joseph and Daniel.

Amber graduated from North Park University with a B.S. in Accounting. Amber has worked in large corporations in both the retail and financial industries and has worked in small business for the last 11 years. She and her husband, Matt, own Wasco Nursery & Garden Center (St. Charles, IL). Amber and Matt are active members of Harvest Bible Chapel (Elgin, IL). Together they have two sons; Caden and Tage who attend Harvest Christian Academy. In her free time, Amber enjoys cleaning, rollerblading and watching her boys play sports.

Bill has had an extensive career in both business and ministry. He spent 21 years at VanKampen Funds rising to the position of President of the Distribution Company. Under his leadership his company won the prestigious Dalbar Award for the outstanding distribution company in the industry in 1995. Since spearheading the sale of VanKampen Funds to Morgan Stanley for $1.2 billion in 1996 Bill has been involved in ministry. He was Executive Director of Leadership Resources International from 2000-2006 and then joined the staff of the Harvest Bible Fellowship until 2017. At HBF Bill was involved with the recruiting, training and coaching of over 100 church planters. Bill has served on over a dozen boards in business and ministry including Pioneers, Grace to You, Slavic Gospel, Leadership Resources and the Harvest Bible Fellowship. He and his wife Cheryl have eight grown children and twelve grandchildren.

Saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ at age 20, Collin’s love for The Lord has grown throughout his life. A hunger to deeply know the truth of Scripture prompted Collin to enroll at Moody Bible Institute, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Exposition with Highest Honors in 2013. While an undergraduate, Collin co-founded the scholarly journal SOMA, a publication that continues to thrive. Collin furthered his education by earning a Masters of Arts in Systematic Theology in 2017 from Wheaton College Graduate School with Highest Honors.
Collin worked at Harvest Bible Fellowship from 2013-2017, serving in positions that put his skills in leadership, management, communications, and administration to good use. During that time he captured the vision of the executives, creating and improving programs that brought the vision to a reality of impactful ministry.

Carol’s love for the Lord has led her and her husband, Gordy, to raise their two children under the authority of God’s Word. Both of Carol’s children are graduates of Harvest Christian Academy (Kasey class of ’14 and Drew class of ’18). While on staff at Harvest Bible Chapel from 2004-2018, Carol was involved in the food ministry for several years and the church planting ministry of Harvest Bible Fellowship (HBF). At HBF she oversaw the administration of all recruiting, training and planting of Harvest/Vertical churches domestically and internationally. Carol was also the Event Coordinator for HBF and led teams for large annual events, like Harvest University. Carol’s love and desire to care for people is what drives her to do her best in serving wherever the Lord has led her.
